WiFi access point
WiFi is the wireless fidelity. In this way the fidelity can access the data and internet from the source point. The fidelity can access directly from the point of source such as (its office, or any organization) or via through an access point. Basically the range of the access is limited to few hundred meters. Within this the fidelity can access the data directly from the source. It is used to interconnect all the fidelities of a same office wirelessly.
It does not support beyond the office premises. Some times the data are accessed by a long distance from the source. Even one can access data from his office computer or office server sitting at railway station, airports and parks etc by his laptop or portable computer. Here the data are not accessed directly form office. The data are transmitted to the access points. And in this case some access points are installed surrounding points the source point.
Access Point
Though the source points have some advantages, yet there are also some disadvantages too. In these cases the signals mingle with others' signals. It makes confuse to catch own original data. It bears the fear of possible hackings. So, though access points have many advantages still it is not safe.
